Abstract
ASHURA is a high power KrF laser system which consists of short pulse front ends, electron-beam pumped amplifiers, six angular coded beam lines, and Raman cells for pulse compression. The layout of ASHURA is shown in Fig. 1. ASHURA aims at optical outputs of 1 kJ in 100 ns, 50 GW in 15 ns, 250 GW in 2 ns, and 5 TW in 6 ps,1-4 and they are going to be used for research on laser fusion,5 the x-ray laser,4 and so on.
