Abstract

Continuous wave operation of the 3H4– transition of Tm3+ at 300 K was observed, we believe for the first time, in Cr,Tm:YSCG under cross-pumping via Cr3+1 Diode User pumped Tm:YAG has shown high efficiency at 2.02-μm wavelength.2 Due to the strong water absorption near 2 μm these new laser sources are interesting for medical use and eye-safe measurement techniques.
