Abstract

There is growing interest in the development of laser-based optical functional devices for advanced fiber communication systems, optical switching, and optical signal processing. In various optical functional devices, bistable laser diodes would be key devices for constructing such advanced optical systems because of their performance having large optical gain and multi-functionality.
