Abstract

Coherent source arrays are essential components of a holographic grating interconnect system.1 In this paper we analyze some alternatives for generating programmable coherent source arrays. The proposed devices are based on two-dimensional spatial light modulators and arrays of Fresnel zone plates (or lenses). Although the concepts described here can be generalized to different types of spatial light modulators (SLMs), our work has concentrated on liquid crystal devices.
