New principles of laser system construction with phase conjugated mirrors

Abstract

It has been suggested and experimentally and theoretically proved a new laser system, consisting of a driving generator and a ring, wave front conjugation generator (Fig. 1). If we use active media with high-power energy and small amplification coefficient (<100) as the four-wave optical system amplifier, the efficiency of the output energy is greater than it is in an amplifier with active medium passage in direct and inverse direction and a phase-conjugated mirror (PCM). We experimentally proved that the solid laser system seems to be successful for the laser source with the regulated outer signal (energy, transverse and temporal structures) parameters and also seems successful for the low-threshold PCMs for self-conjugation of the radiation.
