Abstract

Measurements of the dynamics of excitons confined in the GaAs layers of GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells provide information important to applications of the optical properties of these materials and also provide information regarding the fundamental, physics of confined excitons and the effects of disorder on electronic excitations. In this paper we summarize measurements of exciton relaxation and dephasing using a combination of picosecond-stimulated photon echoes and novel high-resolution, frequency-domain nonlinear spectroscopy techniques.
