Abstract

We are developing a very large aperture (37×37 cm2) Pockels cell optical switch for an advanced Nova laser design which incorporales 288 Beamlets each producing 6 kJ at 0.33 µm. These Beamlets will be arranged in eighteen 4×4 arrays. One such Beamlet is now in construction and will serve as a testbed for the large Pockels cell described here as well as other technologies for an advanced Nova laser design.
