Abstract
Multiple quantum wells (MQWs) of wide-band-gap II–VI compound semiconductors are expected to show enhanced excitonic optical nonlinearity even at room temperature due to the large exciton binding energy. On this viewpoint, we have tried to grow superlattices (SLs) of a ZnCdSSe II–VI materials system and to evaluate the third-order optical nonlinearity at exciton resonance.
