Abstract
Rayleigh lidar measurements in the aftermath of the eruption of Mount Pinatubo reveal structural and dynamical behavior of the resulting dust cloud. Simultaneous Raman measurements were 1nade to correct for attenuation through the cloud and other atmospheric aerosols. Derived temperature profiles suggest the impact of the dust layer at its observed altitude.
