Abstract

We report the properties of optical parametric conversion in potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) and potassium titanyl arsenate (KTA) crystals1,2 using a tunable pump source to vary the output wavelength instead of the usual angle or temperature tuning. To our knowledge, this is the first observation of an optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on KTA.
