Abstract
Experimental results of the operation in our laboratory of singly and doubly resonant MgO:LiNbO3 optical parametric oscillators tunable from 0.738 to 1.411 μm are given. The parametric wavelength of OPOs pumped by a frequency-doubled pulsed Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (0.532 μm) was tuned conveniently by tuning the temperature of MgO:LiNbO3 crystal in the OPO cavity. A maximum total energy conversion efficiency of 10.4% at 5-Hz repetition rate was obtained using a 35-mm long MgO:LiNbO3 crystal cut along θ = 90° (noncritical phase-matching) grown in Southwest institute of Technical Physics, Chengdu, China. The experimental setup schematic is as Fig. 1.
