Abstract

Recently, flat panel display (FPD) devices such as liquid crystal displays (LCDs), plasma displays, vacuum fluorescent displays (VFDs), and electroluminescent displays (ELDs) have garnered attention because they feature thin, lightweight designs, low voltage operation, and low power consumption. Such outstanding features are not available with CRTs. Thus, there is a growing demand for large FPD devices in both the military and civilian markets.
