Wavelength tunable picosecond pulses from passively mode-locked two-section MQW lasers

Abstract

Passive mode-locking of two-section MQW lasers coupled to an external cavity has been demonstrated before to generate picosecond pulses.1,2 More recently, tuning of these lasers was demonstrated.3 by replacing the external cavity mirror with a grating that can be rotated for tuning purposes, as shown in Fig. 1.
