Abstract

Amplification of subpicosecond pulses in semiconductor laser amplifiers (SLA) is currently a topic of theoretical and experimental investigations. Recently we reported1 a comprehensive model of the pulse evolution (in both temporal and spectral domains) which includes a number of amplitude and phase shaping effects in both domains. Here we report the results of applying this model to experiments recently reported by one of us2 on a GaAs/AlGaAs device.
