Abstract

Past parallel processing of information and bidimensional integration has received a tremendous boost from the development of vertical microcavity devices such as surface emitting laser,1 bistable optical switches,2 and modulators.3 However, bidimensional optical processing could be more efficient if the function of optical amplification could also be performed in a practical way.
