Abstract

Compact, lightweight military laser transmitters, such as the Nd:YAG lasers built by Litton Laser Systems, are designed for operation over a wide range of environmental and temperature extremes. The optical compartment of these transmitters must be maintained at very low relative humidities in order to prevent energy loss owing to moisture condensation on resonator components.
