Abstract
Tunable rare-earth-doped fiber lasers1-4 may find applications in optical communication, spectroscopy, interferometry and the realization of new portable length standards. The broad fluorescence spectrum of the Pr3+- doped fiber at 1D2-3F3,4 transition offers the potential of achieving a large tunability centered at 1045 nm.
