Abstract

Optical parametric oscillators based on β- BaB2O4 (BBO) are widely tunable sources that are useful for many applications. When pumped in the ultraviolet, continuously tunable output in the near-ultraviolet, visible, and infrared to ~2.5 µm can be obtained. For laser spectroscopy, narrowband operation often is a prerequisite.
