Abstract
Polymeric photorefractive (PR) films constitute a new class of materials exhibiting PR effect1 until very recently observed only in inorganic crystals. The necessary functionalities for photorefractivity are photoconductivity and electro-optic (EO) response, Known inorganic PR crystals exhibit high second-order optical non linearities combined with moderate to high carrier mobilities.
