Abstract

Optical frequency-division-multiplexing (OFDM) is one of the promising technologies with which to utilize in full the huge bandwidth of lightwave capacity. The potentially large number of OFDM channels can be assigned to circuits and paths in a broadband network. Moreover, the OFDM technique enables us to construct transparent networks that are independent of the kind of signal format and transfer mode used as well as of large capacity transmission systems.
