Abstract

Recent studies have shown that an interesting variety of rippieli ke structures can be formed on excimer laser irradiated polymers.1-3 These laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPPS) may provide a potentially useful way of modifying the physical properties of polymer surfaces for a variety of applications, particularly if their formation and regularity can be suitably controlled.
