Thermal nonlinearity for phase conjugation of IR laser radiation

Abstract

Absorption of radiation in nonlinear media and the related thermal self-action lead to nonlinear effects, which limit the possibilities of laser radiation phase conjugation (PC). In the visible range this problem could be solved by using low-absorption media; but in the middle IR (particularly for condensed media) absorption is quite high and its influence can not be avoided.
