Abstract

Efficient second-harmonic generation of high average power Nd:Yag laser is a difficult problem to solve. Non-uniform temperature distribution in laser rods and thermally induced stress are leading to distorted wavefronts and low extra-cavity second harmonic efficiency. Intra-cavity second- harmonic generation1 together with diode pumping2 seems to be an alternate solution.
