Abstract

A major problem in the design of all-optical MQW devices is the build-up of generated carriers. One possibility for improving device performance is to apply a transverse electric field in order to remove the carriers more rapidly, and the successful implementation of this technique relies upon a knowledge of the carrier sweep-out dynamics.
