Abstract

The possibility of obtaining short wavelength (VUV/XUV) lasers using ionic excimer media was first proposed in 1985.12 The ionic excimer system of [Ar2+ Ar]2+ and the related emissions were studied.3 To the authors' knowledge spontaneous emission was observed, but no laser oscillation has been reported yet. This report describes the experimental research on ionic excimer emission of [Ar2+ Ar]2+ in the spectral range of 100-250 nm and laser oscillation around 200 nm.
