Abstract

The development of an all-solid-state laser capable of produicng ultrashort pulses has been a research goal for a number of years. The laser gain material Cr:LiSAF possesses the properties required for such a laser. The performance of Cr:LiSAF lasers pumped directly with GaInP/AIGaInP laser diodes is always affected by the poor beam quality of these diodes.1·2
