Abstract

We report on the development of a near-field scanning optical microscope (NSOM) combining ultrafast temporal resolution with nanometer spatial resolution. Towards this end, pulses emitted from an NSOM tip with a temporal width less than 100 fs have been measured using a cross-correlation by up-conversion technique.
