Abstract

AlGaAs lasers have been used with pseudonoise code (PN) amplitude modulation to remotely sense clouds and atmospheric aerosol distributions.1-4 We report in this paper integrated path and range-resolved measurements of atmospheric water vapor made with a compact differential absorption lidar (DIAL) using AlGaAs lasers modulated with PN codes.
