Abstract
This paper describes recent advances in correcting images degraded by atmospheric turbulence with adaptive optics employing artificial laser beacons. The work was conducted on the 1.5-m telescope at the Phillips Laboratory’s Starfire Optical Range (SOR) near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The telescope is equipped with a 208 subaperture, 241 actuator adaptive optics system operating at visible wavelengths.
