Abstract

We demonstrate a new experimental procedure enabling broad band femtosecond pump-probe measurements in the 1300 and 1550 nm wavelength region. Using this technique we have measured carrier dynamics in the barrier states of an InGaAs/ InGaAsP quantum well amplifier, which yield details of carrier cooling, capture and the spectral extent of various gain nonlinearities.1–3
