Visualization of structure and function in live neural tissues by confocal fluorescence microscopy

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Recently developed site-specific and ion- specific fluorescent probes allow the visualization by confocal microscopy of fine details of neural structure and patterns of cellular signaling in live and intact neural tissues. A lecture-videotape presentation will illustrate the use of such methods to study neural glial interactions and nervous system development.
