Abstract

There is currently much interest in borate crystals for ultraviolet (UV) nonlinear optics (NLO), because all-solid-state UV lasers obtained by NLO are strongly requested. The borate crystals, such as LiB3O5 (LBO) and β-BaB2O4 (BBO), have been used to generate UV light by frequency mixing of the NdrYAG laser output.1,2 Recently, a new NLO crystal, CsLiB6O10 (CLBO) has been found.3 In this work we report the growth of CLBO and its NLO properties.
