Abstract

Laser-spark spectroscopy can be used as a continuous in situ technique for applications such as monitoring toxic-metal emissions from incinerators and combustors. An issue of critical importance for in situ measurements is the effect of ambient conditions on the signal detected by the monitor. We are working on understanding the effects of ambient conditions on concentration measurements performed with laser-spark spectroscopy.
