Abstract
Group-delay dispersion (GDD) of multilayer mirrors may have an effect on the phase structure of ultrashort pulses.1 Specially designed high-reflectivity laser mirrors, however, have proved to be a good candidate for controlling both the intra- and extracavity GDD in femtosecond lasers.2,3 The construction of such a high-performance laser requires precise knowledge of the expected phase shift as a function of frequency.4,5 In this paper we present a very accurate, simple, and fairly inexpensive experimental technique to measure the group delay (GD) of multilayer laser mirrors over a wide spectral range.
