Abstract

The temperature of individual droplets is an important parameter for the study of heat and mass transfer in combustion sprays. The size of the droplets in spray range from a few to hundreds of micrometers in diameter. We describe a new technique to measure the temperature of a single microdroplet that contains a thermochromic absorber and a lasing dye.
