Abstract
Short-wavelength visible optoelectronic devices will have many applications, including high-density optical data storage, full-color displays, underwater communications, etc. For example, that current trend in magnetooptic and photorefractive storage is to shift the recording and reading wavelengths towards blue/green, as the storage density increases quadratically with decreasing wavelength.
