Abstract

The design of a compact high-brightness solid-state dye laser oscillator requires a judicious choice of optimal resonator stability and mirror reflectivity. Confocal unstable resonators (consisting of convex and concave mirrors in a Cassegrain arrangement) are commonly used to increase the mode volume of low-order modes, resulting in a highbrightness laser.
