Abstract

The anomalously broad angle, temperature, and wavelength tolerances associated with noncritical phasematching (NCPM) are attractive for practical device applications. Until now, no room temperature NCPM materials with suitable nonlinear optical properties have emerged for frequency doubling of Nd:YAG lasers. We have grown large, defect free crystals of K1-xNaxTiOPO4 and demonstrated efficient NCPM frequency doubling of pulsed and cw Nd:YAG lasers to 532 nm.
