Abstract

Quasi phase matching (QPM) is a technique that can be used to engineer existing optical materials for nonlinear interactions with convenient noncritical operation, increased nonlinear coefficient, and broader spectral coverage in frequency-conversion applications.1 We report a QPM optical parametric oscillator (OPO) made by using bulk periodically polai LiNbO3 (PPLN), that is tunable over 1.4-4.0 μm.
