Abstract

The synchronously pumped parametric oscillator (SPPO) is an attractive system for extending the wavelength range of ultrafast pulses. In addition to broad tunability and megahertz repetition rates, these systems produce femtosecond pulses at multiple wavelengths that are synchronized to better than a pulsewidth. We have chosen LBO because it can be both noncritically phase matched and temperature tuned. In this paper, we review the performance of the LBO SPPO pumped by a mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser producing 100 fs pulses at 800 nm.1 We then present new results for this SPPO pumped by a frequency doubled diode pumped mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser producing 6 ps pulses at 532 nm.
