Abstract

The surface-emitting type of photonic beam switch is very useful for optical interconnects and optical data processing. It will be even more attractive if the switch can be controlled all optically. In this research, we demonstrate an all-optical surface-emitting type of switch by using a second-order grating-coupled surface-emitting laser (GCSEL).1
