Abstract
Ti:sapphire-pumped femtosecond optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) have been shown to be highly versatile sources of tunable, high-repetition-rate, sub-100-fs pulses in the spectral region from near- to mid-infrared.1-3 However, the large spectral bandwidth associated with femtosecond pulses may not be optimal for many applications. On the other hand, optical pulses with picosecond temporal durations represent a suitable compromise between spectral and temporal resolution that is necessary for many experiments in time-resolved spectroscopy.
