Fast and nondestructive method for characterizing erbium-doped fiber

Abstract

The characterization of erbium-doped-fiber (EDF) parameters is an important issue for the optimization of amplifiers and lasers that use these fibers. We present a nondestructive method for full characterization of EDF with just one measurement and a simple experimental setup.
