Abstract

Recently, moderate-to-high-average-power laser light in the 3-5-µm-wavelength atmospheric transmission windows has been generated by using optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) pumped by 2-µm solid-state lasers.1 Currently, the most attractive nonlinear materials for these OPOs are ZnGeP2 and AgGaSe2.
