Abstract
For applications in laser-based metrology and medicine highly efficient and reliable laser light sources with output powers in the range of several watts and excellent beam quality are required. Diode-pumped solid-state lasers are widely recognized as light sources with the desired performances. However, linear power scaling of these systems can be accomplished only in a limited power range because the compensation of the thermally induced effects has to be adapted to the pump power.
