Abstract

There is a need in the manufacturing, aerospace, commercial, energy, automotive, microelectronics, and DoD communities for diagnostic systems that can improve the efficiency, yield, and performance of various processes–while reducing cost, labor, scrap, and machine downtime. Such needs apply to a myriad of materials and bonds, including welds, surface treatments, hardening, composites, metallurgy, microcrack detection, adhesion, remote temperature, and thickness measurements. Inspections performed after as well as during processing are key to achieving these goals.
