Abstract
Adaptive photodetectors under consideration are based on the effect of nonsteady-state photo-EMF.1 The effect relates to the property of photoconductive and photorefractive materials to store 2D light patterns in the form of corresponding spatial electric charge/field distributions in their volume. In the case of standard photorefractive recording, this pattern is transformed into a phase relief via linear electro-optic effect and can be reconstructed using an additional reference light beam.
