Abstract

For applications in optical telecommunication micro-optical systems with integrated optoelectronic devices, single-mode waveguide structures, and fiber pigtail are required. Molding of polymeric waveguide structures with integrated mechanical alignment supports1 offer the possibility to passively assemble the complete system. Figure 1 illustrates the fabrication concept.
