Abstract
The wavelength stabilization of high-power pump semiconductor lasers for optical fiber amplifiers is becoming important in order to achieve the low-distortion amplification characteristics required, in particular, for CATV applications.1 Recently, results have been reported on the wavelength stabilization of 0.98-µm laser diodes using fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs).2 However, the fiber output power is limited up to 100 mW in such configurations.3,4 Here, we report a 310-mW fiber-output, wavelength-stabilized 1.02-µm strained InGaAs quantum well laser coupled into a fiber Bragg grating.
