Abstract

We report a method for tunable dual-wavelength oscillation by use of the self-seeding technique.1 The basic configuration is presented in Fig. 1. In this configuration, there are two grazing-incidence (GIM) cavities and a standing-wave cavity. They play roles of master oscillators for each wavelength and a slave oscillator to the both of GIM cavities, respectively. As the active medium, we have used a 5 ×10−4 M of rhodamine 6G in ethanol. We have used two 2,400 grooves/mm holographic gratings to obtain only the zeroth-and first-order diffracted beam. The incidence angle to the grating was about 88°. We have used partially reflecting mirrors as feedback mirrors at both ends. The oscillator was longitudinally pumped with the second harmonic of the Q-switched, pulsed Nd: YAG laser.
